🌍 Roserock Pinot Noir, Domain Drouhin 2021
The Roserock vineyard is located at the southern tip of the Eola-Amity Hills in the southern Willamette Valley.
The soils are volcanic, ancient, with an elevation between 120 and 260 meters above sea level. This ideal position thus benefits from a unique cooling effect called the Van Duzer corridor and which makes it possible to produce classic black and chardonnay pinots, typical of fresh climates. Roserock is certified “Low Input Viticulture Environment” for sustainable viticulture.
2021 Vintage - February was marked by an rare ice storm. The season continued dry. Mild to moderate frosts from early to mid-April, followed by an early-season heat episode in early May.
At the end of June, we had the hottest days ever recorded in the valley, and yet the vineyards remained healthy and resilient.
At the end of this spectacular growing season, the vines produced grapes with complex flavours, with a balance of elegance.
Roserock Pinot noir comes from a selection of 35 plots of the Estate, which are harvested by hand, sorted and then vinified individually.
