🌍 Roserock Zéphirine Pinot Noir, Domain Drouhin 2017
Roserock is a vineyard at the southern tip of the Eola-Amity Hills, in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Volcanic soils and an ideal elevation range to produce classic cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Zéphirine Pinot Noir is a barrel selection cuvée from the Roserock vineyard
Zéphirine conveys purity and beauty, elegance and finesse, and will age beautifully in the coming years. The name, if your wondering, refers to the Zéphirine Drouhin variety of climbing rose, which is known for its fragrance and beauty.
The 2017 growing had a cool, wet spring – as a result budbreak was late, flowering was delayed, and harvest was later than usual. All resulting in cooler temperatures - yields were strong and the flavour development exciting.

Palate
There is complexity and layered flavours, with a round, almost juicy, central core of fruit. Flavors include crushed red berries, cassis, subtle vanilla, minerals, and cedar. Rich and generous, the texture is soft and silky with bright acidity and fine tannins. The finish is very elegant and long, suggesting that this Zéphirine has an exciting story ahead.
